Shanan is preparing for her second neck surgery to replace damaged vertebrae. This has taken her away from work indefinitely and created significant challenges as she cares for her elderly parents.
In Shanan’s words: "Dealing with an unexpected second neck fusion surgery that has taken me off work indefinitely. This situation is worrisome since I am the sole caretaker and provider of my elderly parents (who live with me & in their 80s), and being off work is a huge obstacle to overcome in many ways."
