Meet the Dragons Care Team
Dragons Care is run by a team of Carroll ISD parent and staff volunteers who are dedicated to supporting the teachers and staff who empower our children to achieve excellence in all that they do.

Founder & President, Board Chair
Virginia began this initiative in 2020 alongside 10 other parents. She is married to her husband Roth and they have two children, Audrey and Charlotte, who are both Dragons at CISD. She has lived in Southlake, TX for 16 years. Prior to moving to Southlake, she worked for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity in Development, Marketing & Volunteer Coordination. Virginia also works at her husband Dr. Roth Hinkle's dental practice, Hinkle Family Dental, assisting in Marketing, Human Resources, Management and Strategic Planning. She is heavily involved in the Southlake community -- volunteering for the PTO, CISD Strategic Planning, Carroll Leadership for Supporting Success and CISD Communications Action Team. She has been a community volunteer for multiple city-wide events.
Board Member
Dr. Jim Calvin
Dr. Jim Calvin and his wife, Nancy, have three kids, Riley (Class of 2023), Carter (Class of 2024), and Reese (Class of 2026), who love being Dragons. Jim served as Assistant Principal at Durham Elementary and Intermediate school from 1997-2000 before beginning a 23 year career as principal which concluded when he retired as principal of Walnut Grove Elementary following the 2022-23 school year. Nancy has enjoyed teaching math at Eubanks Intermediate since 2013. Jim was privileged to be a part of seeing Dragons Care take off and take root within the Walnut Grove campus community and is honored to serve as a member of the Dragons Care Board to see this organization impact Dragons and families across the Carroll ISD community.
Secretary, Board Member
Vamsi Alla, a Technology Executive by profession, is a resident of Southlake since 2017. He is a proud father of Poorvi Alla, Sophomore Dragon at Carroll ISD. He is married to Ramashesai Besetty who is a Medical Director at one of the largest hospitals in the metroplex. He likes to give back to the community by volunteering his time and serving on city/school committees including the Finance committee for Southlake Carroll ISD and Building Board of Appeals at the City of Southlake. In addition, he serves on the Board of Call-a-ride Southlake, Timarron Owners Association etc.
Board Member
Tammy and her husband, Mark, have two children, Emily and Ethan, both of whom are K-12 Dragon alumni. Tammy served Carroll ISD for 28 years as the Coordinator of Counselors. She currently continues to support others in her role as a College and Life Coach. Tammy is a local resident who has a heart for educators in Carroll ISD, and she has a desire to continue to support them through volunteering and mentorship opportunities. In her free time, Tammy loves to cook, and she loves spending quality time with family and friends.
Vice President of Operations
Tina is married to Stephen Wilkins. They have 3 daughters, Lillian, Adeline and Emily. They have lived in Southlake for 8 years and love being Dragons! Tina has a Masters degree in Marine Resources Management and was formally a marine biologist. Tina’s passion for serving her community is evident by her leadership in the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs) organization as the Coordinator for a year & a group leader for 4 years. She also serves as a mentor to many mothers in the community. Furthermore, she consistently volunteers at her older daughters’ school, WGES, as well as her youngest daughter’s Mother Day Out Program.
Treasurer
Mandy and her husband, Kevin, have two Dragons, Kaiden and Zayne. They have lived in Southlake for 6 years. Mandy has volunteered with the Walnut Grove PTO and Durham PTO throughout the years and is incredibly grateful to be part of such a passionate and dedicated community. Mandy grew up in West Texas and attended The University of Texas in Austin where she graduated with a Master’s in Professional Accounting. She has had a dynamic 21-year career within the accounting industry, contributing to client service and internal operations across multiple departments within PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mandy and Kevin love spending time with family, traveling and watching college football. As the daughter of an educator and a law enforcement officer, the Dragons Care mission resonates with Mandy, and she is deeply committed to supporting teachers, staff and SROs within the Dragon community.
VP of Communications
Mark Flores is excited to be a part of the dragons care organization. Mark has served in numerous volunteer roles with both the City of Southlake and the CISD including membership in the Mayor’s Alliance for Unity & Culture and Alliance for Community Engagement with the City of Southlake and the chair of the Safety Committee for Carroll ISD. Mark also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Cowtown Marathon. He grew up in Arlington, Texas and remains an avid fan of all Dallas sports teams as well as the Texas Longhorns, where he obtained his degree in broadcast journalism, and the Kentucky Wildcats, where he attended law school. Mark is currently a shareholder at the Dallas office of Littler Mendelson, PC practicing labor and employment management side defense. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mark spent almost 10 years as a professional broadcaster. Mark enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their two children.
VP of Development
Jen Horsley is a highly successful sales and marketing executive with 15+ years of expertise in business development, strategic planning and managing high-performing sales teams. She has a proven ability to develop strong relationships and influence decision makers.
Prior to moving to Southlake Jen was SVP of Sales for a technology/marketing company. She has extensive brand and category experience in CPG, Retail & Technology. She's an expert in building and strengthening relationships, growing profitable revenue and driving brand sales for clients.
Jen served on the Almost Home Kids Board from 2017 to 2023 where she chaired the Chicago President’s Advisory Council for 6 years. She has been actively involved on the Share the Care Ball Committee since 2017. Jen was instrumental in securing pro-bono gifts for strategic planning and countless silent auction items for our special events.
After living in Chicago for 20+ years, she relocated back to her roots in Texas in 2020. Jen and her husband Dan along with their twin daughters, Camilla & Blair now call Southlake home and are proud to be part of this amazing Dragon Community.
In her spare time you can find Jen substitute teaching for CISD, working up a sweat at the gym or nose deep in a great book.
